ELECTRICITY FROM THE SUN

We have to admit that we use electricity. Quite a lot of it, in fact. We simply need it for our work. But that doesn’t mean that we squander it willy-nilly. On the contrary – we save energy wherever we can.

This is why we decided to use the roofs of our halls to optimise our electricity consumption and installed a photovoltaic system on these. With the planned 200 kWp, we can consequently lower our base load with solar power and use the entire output for our own consumption. This was well worth the around € 115,000 cost of this investment!

LED THERE BE LIGHT

Darkness may favour secret dealings, but not work. And because it takes quite a bit of light and energy to brighten up large halls, this is precisely where we have applied some leverage to improve our life cycle assessment and do the environment good.

Thus, we redesigned our halls 1, 2 and 3 together with the scrap yard hall and equipped them with modern and efficient LED spotlights. And the result is certainly worth a closer look, even in daylight: thanks to this measure alone, we could lower our CO2 emissions by around 108 tons a year!

KEEPING A CLEAN TANK

In cooperation with Energie Direkt from St. Pölten, we are currently carrying out tests with fully synthetic diesel for our fleet of trucks. Shell GTL Fuel is a synthetic fuel that is produced from natural gas. It can reduce local emissions such as particulate matter and nitrogen oxides from conventional diesel vehicles.

Our trucks are always on the move and get around. The emissions they produce naturally have an impact on our air. We can counteract this with the latest developments and reduce the exhaust gases we produce.
